We hired a private guide for the days as well as did the Princess Ball with Disney. The time of the ball was pushed up to a meet time of 4:30 so we had less than 3 hrs touring the first day. We mainly did a highlights tour, fighting the St. Petersburg traffic.
Before we left the ship the girls went to the new "Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique" onboard in preparation for the ball. So the girls toured with glitter and the likes.
Our first stop was Peter an Paul Fortress, then we passed by the battleship Aurora on the Neva River, stopped for photo ops at St. Isaac Cathedral and the Bronze Horseman statue.

Back on the boat, changed and headed out to the ball at St. Catherine's Palace, tea sandwiches, small musical show, the arrival of the princesses, a tour of the Palace including the Amber Room and then the ball in the throne room.
Day 2 started around 8:45. We headed to Peterhof Palace, and got there before the fountains were turned on. We toured the upper and lower gardens and saw the "trick fountains"
We headed back into town. Stopped for lunch and then got dropped off at the Hermitage. Very crowded going into 1 door. It also had just started to rain. Today was the only rain we saw all trip. We did a highlights tour - DaVinci, Rembrandt. Somehow I got suckered into carrying the 9 year old towards the end of the tour
Next Palace Square and Alexander Column
