Oslo is the capital and the largest city in Norway.  The population is less than 600,000.  Average temperature range from a high of 69 to a low of 51 in June.  It is located at the head of a 60 mile long fjord.  Fjords are long narrow inlets created by glacier activity with steep sides.  Europe's most northerly country.

Bygdoy is a peninsula that is located on the western side of Oslo.  Many of the Museums are located here including the Viking Ship Museum and the Norwegian Folk Museum. 
Take the Ferry from Pier 3 to get here:Boat (no. 91) departs every 20 minutes (but every 40 min before noon and after 16:30) from Radhusbrygge 3, in front of  Oslo City Hall.  Ferry Schedule

There are 7 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Norway, but none are near Oslo.
